A Long Awaited Martyrdom

The new year has started but unfortunately not the way we anticipate
Alas, Sheikh al-Nimr has been killed after a long awaited fate

The murderers of Nimr are none other than ale-Saud
Who followed the footsteps of Shimr and ale-Yahood

Today they think that they shut down the voice of justice and peace
But little do they know that by their act their mission is far from complete

They labeled Nimr a Kharijite and claimed that he undermined the national unity
Isn’t this similar to the accusation their predecessors made against Hussain falsely?

Many Nimrs have taken rise today to carry the legacy enriched by this shaheed (martyr)
No to indignity was the cry of this brave cleric who achieved such a great feat

Nimr has joined the caravan of companions who sacrificed their lives in defense of Hussain
The only difference is the time of his sacrifice and by that he received divine gain

Following the footsteps of the hero Qasim who described death as sweet
Ali al-Nimr carries on his father’s mission in the way of Allah to the last heartbeat

Dear shaheed, your blood has sadly been shed but surely not in vain
Indeed the pain you went through will soon bring down the illegitimate Saudi regime

Your name speaks truly of your courage and bravery
A tiger you are as you openly defied falsehood and faced all jeopardy
This is the beginning of the end of the cursed tree
By their murder they have set you eternally free

Just like Saddam executed Baqir al-Sadr and his downfall started from then
Ale-Saud will see their own extermination now after they beheaded Nimr

Life does not end when one dies, rather real life begins with dignified death
The tree of freedom was watered today when you took your last breath

Dear shaheed, you have earned yourself in the eyes of Allah a lofty position
Little do they know that sacrifice and martyrdom is our only ambition

What now and who will be the next target?
Are we to await till his son dies or Zakzaky gets the next bullet?

Rise up and stand together in defense of justice
With the Hussain of today against all this transgress

Before regret fills us when Zakzaky and others follow the same fate
There won’t be much we can do and it will be way too late
