Death

Yahya NaqviBrother Yahya Naqvi is back with his latest poem about death and how it creeps up on us.

Yahya Naqvi

Between our walls of history
Forgotten by time
We begin our journey
At the mercy of the Divine.

This world is a transient mirage
We’ll watch our complex tale
Brought forth will be our life’s collage
Exposed in full detail.

With all disclosed and revealed
What excuses will we say?
No sin, or mistake concealed
As we’ll gradually decay.

Alone, in our final house
Soon the time will be
Death will come and chase you down
No matter how you flee.

Every soul shall have a taste of death. [3:185]
